I agree and in fact would go a step further and say we should model and promote effective teachers. However, sometimes it takes a charter school, which has more latitude than a tradition public school, to innovative – which is a reason to support charters and promote the ones that work, unlike what the teachers union is doing in NY http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123985052084823887.html.
